Today's Notes:
Tamarack location is still just shy of reaching 300 inches for the season, just shy by 0.3 inches. Keweenaw county is 19.2 inches away from reaching 300 inches, but it could still happen. There wasn't to much snow that fell during the late afternoon, the ground is now getting warmer and sun is higher in the air so snow will be melting quickly once we get it. There may be a few flurries during the week and it probably won't add up to much. Temps still look to remain cool through the week.

Season: 169.1
Today's Notes:
With the temps dropping into the low to mid 20s and winds shifted in the morning to a direct north wind that dropped a little bit of lake effect snow. The next few days we should see temps in the upper 30s to the mid 40s with evenings cooling down enough for a few possible flurries through the week. Tamarack location is still just shy of reaching 300 inches for the season, just shy of 0.5 inches. There was snowfall today, late morning, so that may possibly be enough to bring it to 300 inches tomorrow. Today turned out to be a fairly nice day with some nice needed sunshine late afternoon with a nice sunset to end the day. Tomorrow I might do a LIVE Top 10 Snowiest Video on Facebook, if I don't get to it you will be able to see the updated list on the TOP 10 Snowiest Page. Thanks for following the snow totals.

Today's Notes:
Just a little bit of snowfall across the Upper Peninsula nothing more than a few inches. Temperatures should remain on the cooler side through this week and warm up nicely on Saturday with some places possibly reaching the low to mid 50s. Snowfall totals are much lower than last year at this time at most locations in the Upper Peninsula and temperatures were a bit warmer across the board.
If you want to view where the most snowfall is, view the TOP 10 Snowiest Places in the UP the list was updated on Monday, it will be updated as long as we are seeing snowfall. Last year we saw snowfall the last three days of April and also a couple times in May, with May 19th being the last day of snow anywhere in the Upper Peninsula. I would guess that we most likely will see more snow this month and I wouldn't rule out snow again in May, many times that is around Mother's Day.

Today's Notes:
The NWS Marquette office joined the 200 Inch Snowfall Club today.
The storm system that brough some heavy snowfall through the Upper Peninsula yesterday was a dandy for sure for some areas of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. We as Yoopers are used to having and seeing snow in April so it really isn't that big of a deal. Many times in April we do get these systems that drop this amount of snowfall fairly frequently over the years. It would be interesting to put some data together for April snowfall over the years. There is a chance of light snowfall the next few days however into the weekend it appears we will start seeing 40s again. I did update the TOP 10 Snowiest Places in the UP so you can view that updated list, it will be updated as long as we are seeing snowfall. Season: 169.1
Today's Notes:
Storm system arrived with a bang and dropped 5-19 inches of snow across the Upper Peninsula. Greatest snow amounts were directly through the central half of the Upper Peninsula from Sidnaw/Watton along M28 to Covington Jct, areas along US41 to Marquette, M28 to Munising, and south of Harvey along US41 Green Garden, Kiva, Trenary areas. These areas saw 10-19 inches of snowfall. Areas along 94 near Chatham saw around 12-14 inches. Most areas in the Western UP and Northern UP in the Copper Country saw 4-8 inches of snow. The last 10 years or so we have been seeing a decent amount of snow in April around the same couple weeks and it seems to come in 10+ inch snowfall amounts all at once. The next few days we may see a little snowfall and then Saturday it looks to get into the lower 40s which should melt what we received last night and this morning. Also to make note is the Tamarack location snowfall station is now less than 10 inches from reaching 300 inches for the season.
Amasa, Three Lakes (Beaufort Lake), Downtown Marquette, and Marquette lighthouse joined the 100 Inch Snowfall Club. Also Herman joined the 200 Inch Snowfall Club. Tomorrow the NWS Marquette office will be joining the 200 Inch Snowfall Club.

Today's Notes:
A few inches in areas to the southern western portions of the Upper Peninsula. The system that many predict hitting the area with significant snowfall on Sunday night into Monday is still developing and there are no watches yet. It is possible this system could not impact the Upper Peninsula as much as has been broadcast through some news agencies already. Many time these convergences one overpowers the other enough to impact the initial predictions. Stay tuned to the NWS Marquette office for further developments as we get closer into the weekend. I am sure by Saturday afternoon we will have a good idea of what is going to happen. Also I want to let people know if you are planning on coming up to the Upper Peninsula to snowmobile, it is over trails closed March 31st. We are also on a Stay-at-Home order from our governor and no one can visit second homes, camps, friends. AirBnB and rentals can only be done if for more than a month stay. Stay home please, thanks, and we see you when this is all over.

Season: 169.1
Today's Notes:
Just a smidgen of snow across the Western UP, a few traces of snowfall in the Copper Country area and Central Upper Peninsula. There are flakes flying now across the Upper Peninsula today it shouldn't add up to much as ground is getting warmer and temps are hovering around freezing today, shouldn't be much accumulation if any today. Sunday into Monday a couple systems should be arriving in the Upper Midwest and clashing with the northernly downsloping trough that is arriving from Alaska and Canada. At the same time we should see a system coming from the upper Mississippi River valley moving northeastward that should interact with the northern trough giving the Upper Peninsula some wet weather, much of it should be wet snowfall. The snowfall totals are to early to put out as of now, any numbers you are seeing are just pulled out of a hat at this point, give it till late Friday and early Saturday morning to get a good idea of snowfall we should be expecting.

Season: 158
Today's Notes:
First snowfall of April and probably not our last snowfall. Weather has been turning a bit warmer now and we have been having some nice ones lately. The rivers have been flowing as the temps have risen and snow has been melting so now is the time to get out and see some waterfalls, you may still need some snow shoes in some places if hiking into the woods at some locations. Ice has been disappearing off the shorelines now and the rock along some locations across the Upper Peninsula is now exposed for rock picking. Hope things are going well for you wherever you are and you are able to catch up on some things that maybe you have been putting off before this virus hit us. Take some time to read, clean the garage, do some yard work, go for a hike, bike, kayak, or learn a new hobby. Take care of yourselves and I will see ya on the next video. -- Yooper Steve on Facebook - Follow me on Instagram Yooper Steve on Instagram
