Hello all, welcome back to another winter season. This is the 7th year of snowfall reports on FunintheUP.com, thanks for following the snowfall page! FunintheUP has quickly become the #1 place for snowfall totals for those interested. Over 1.6 million people viewed our snowfall videos last year from LIVE snowfall reports, to our snowfall videos through our facebook page.
This year will be another fun year of snow, are you ready? Last year the highest snowfall was at the Calumet (Tamarack Loc.) with 331 inches of snowfall for the season. There was a total of 5 snow stations that hit 300 inches last season, they were Calumet (Tamarack Loc) with 331", Painesdale with 314.8", Houghton county with 311.9", Keweenaw County with 304", and Allouez township with 300". This season looks to be no different that last year cold and snow. The snowbelts usually always get their snowfall, but this season we should see an increase in non snowbelt areas with more snow than the last few years have brought to them. One thing is for sure and that is FunintheUP will have your snow updates all winter long, thanks for following.

Snowfall from Nov 30th 10am to Dec 1st 10am. This page may be updated multiple times through the day.

Notes: Just a dusting at many locations and up to an inch and a half around Calumet and into the Keweenaw. This month ends as one of the snowier Novembers on record for much of the Upper Peninsula. Calumet (Tamarack Loc.) and Herman both hit 60+ inches so far season to date. If December shapes up to be another 100+ inches of snowfall a few stations will be halfway to 300 inches for the season. Things should start getting colder now and we should see more Lake Effect snowfall.

Notes: A light dusting of snowfall through much of the Upper Peninsula today, areas in the Western UP and Northern UP saw the most snow today. The snow was wet and made the roads slippery. We haven't had any deep freezing temperatures for any length of time yet. There may be a snow system moving into the UP this weekend which could drop a 1-5 inches in the higher elevations.

Notes: Hardly any snowfall today. A trace of snow at some locations in the western UP and through the central UP. A little bit of snowfall around Munising and the Soo. Tomorrow we are supposed to get a small amount of Lake Effect snowfall, but temps will be hovering around 30 degrees so snow will be wet if we get anything and that could make the roads slippery for travel.

Notes: A little bit of snow through the Western UP an inch or less at most snow locations. A strong band moved off Lake Superior southernly over Chatham and Munising which brought 2-5 inches in the area. Temperatures hovering in the mid to upper 20s.

Snowfall from Nov 26th 10am to Nov 27th 10am. This page may be updated multiple times through the day.

Notes: Not a lot of snowfall, thought it would be a bit more, but there were rea thin bands that dropped snow around Ironwood, Greenland, Covington, and Herman areas, other areas saw less than 2 inches overall. Last year from Nov 22nd through Dec 3rd we didn't see see any snowfall, by the end of Nov it melted. Then starting Dec 4th, the snow was in full force again until April 17th. It appears that might be the way things will be again this year.

Notes: Not to much snowfall today, mostly across the western and central UP again, with a trace of snowfall in areas of the eastern UP. Last year from Nov 22nd through Dec 3rd we didn't see see any snowfall, by the end of Nov it melted. Then starting Dec 4th, the snow was in full force again until April 17th. It appears that might be the way things will be again this year.

Notes: A little bit of rain continued from yesterday, but as temps cooled the snow moved into the central and western UP. Other areas of the UP didn't see snowfall. - Snowfall from Nov 19th 10am to Nov 20th 10am. This page may be updated multiple times through the day.

Notes: Light snowfall across most of the UP today. Temps the last couple of days have been in the upper teens to low 20s. Ice is starting to form on Portage Lake, and most small inland lakes now are ice covered, but many still not safe to traverse yet. We are very close to or ahead on snowfall totals at many stations in the UP for this time compared to last year. Last year we saw about a 2 week warmup with rain and then the snow really hit hard on Dec 5th through the rest of the month, giving some locations over 100 inches of snowfall for December.
