Well friends, it is towards the end of November which means it is just that much closer to the end of the year for 2019. The first 2 weeks of the month were filled with snow, almost every day for 14 days there was measureable snowfall. Over to the eastern UP south of Grand Marais to Newberry to Paradise have been the snowiest areas in the Upper Peninsula so far at this point. Grand Marais has the most snowfall so far this year with 54 inches<\/a> and Paradise comes in 2nd with 51 inches<\/a> of snow so far. Other areas of the Copper Country and Keweenaw are about normal snowfall amounts for the month of November. Calumet (Tamarack loc) has 35.9<\/a> inches so far, and Painesdale has 32.9<\/a> inches this season. Areas around Marquette to Michigamme are slightly lower than normal for this time of the year. The NWS Marquette office has 11.5<\/a> inches this year so far and last year at this time they had recorded 39.1 inches already.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our next snowfall system (not sure if I would call it a storm yet) looks to be coming in around Tuesday night and really be making an impact on Wednesday, leaving many on Thanksgiving having to do some shoveling to get out of the driveway on Friday. If you are planning to make a trip in the Midwest I would ensure you have emergency gear ready in your vehicles and be ready for the worst, being stuck in the cold weather with heavy snowfall is not the most ideal situation you wanna find yourself in. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
